The Metropolitan Museum of Art's, Costume Institute upcoming exhibition China: Through the Looking Glass
On February 16th the Metropolitan Museum of art hosted a press presentation for their upcoming event China: Through the Looking Glass. The exhibit will be presented in the Chinese Galleries and Anna Wintour Costume Center from May 7th through August 16th 2015. The show will explore how China has influenced the fashionable imagination for centuries, producing some of the most beautiful high fashion garments from a renowned mix of designers. Organized by the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton with the support of head curator Harold Koda, and in collaboration with the Department of Asian Art, the high fashion will be set side by side with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains and other pieces of art. In celebration of the exhibition, a benefit gala will take place on May 4th 2015. Members can view the exhibit May 5 and 6th before the opening date.
